Campus Facilities

NC State’s campus facilities support a wide range of student activities and events. Students can attend programs, participate in campus organizations, engage in recreational activities, and experience the arts across multiple locations on campus. The facilities below highlight key spaces that support student engagement and campus life.

Gregg Museum of Art & Design

The Gregg Museum of Art & Design is NC State’s collecting museum, with a permanent collection spanning ceramics, textiles, glass, furniture, photography, paintings, sculpture, and works on paper. Rotating exhibitions and public programs provide ongoing opportunities for engagement.

Located in the historic Chancellor’s Residence on Hillsborough Street, the museum also includes formal gardens and a contemporary gallery space for exhibitions and events. Admission is free and open to the public. For hours and visitor information, visit gregg.arts.ncsu.edu or call 919.515.3503.

Price Music Center (PMC)

Price Music Center houses the Department of Performing Arts and Technology and supports music instruction, practice, and performance. Practice rooms are available to NC State students who have completed the appropriate form and use the Skedda booking system to reserve space in advance.

The facility includes instructional and practice spaces, with additional offices and facilities located in nearby campus buildings. For more information, visit the Department of Performing Arts and Technology website or call 919.515.2981.

PMC is located at 2620 Cates Avenue, next to Talley Student Union. The main office is located on the second floor, room 203. Additional facilities and offices are located in Carmichael Complex and the south wing of Broughton Hall. 

Talley Student Union

Talley Student Union is the hub of student life on campus and is the place to study, shop, dine and engage with your peers. Talley Student Union offers a variety of resources, including food venues, Wolfpack Outfitters, the Woodward Student Involvement Center and Stewart Theatre. If students are looking to connect with the arts, enhance their leadership skills or connect with peers, Talley Student Union is the place to start. Students can even join the student employment team that operates the facility.

RAVE! Events

RAVE! Events manages event planning and space reservations for Talley Student Union. For reservations and event support, visit RAVE!’s website or call 919.513.8368.

Frank Thompson Hall

Frank Thompson Hall houses University Theatre and the Crafts Center. The facility includes performance spaces, classrooms, studios, and production areas supporting theatre and visual arts programs.

The Crafts Center offers classes and workshops in a range of disciplines, including clay, photography, woodworking, jewelry, and fiber arts. Facilities are available to students, alumni, and the public. For more information, visit the University Theatre and Crafts Center websites.

Thompson Hall is located at the corner of Dunn Avenue and Jensen Drive, with University Theatre at 2241 Dunn Avenue and the Crafts Center at 210 Jensen Drive.

Wellness and Recreation Center and Carmichael Gym

The Wellness and Recreation Center and Carmichael Gym provide indoor and outdoor recreational facilities, including fitness spaces, courts, fields, and aquatic facilities. Students have access to a variety of equipment and activity spaces, subject to scheduling and availability.

Witherspoon Student Center (WSC)

Witherspoon Student Center (WSC) houses the African American Cultural Center, Military and Veteran Services and Student Media, which includes the offices of five student-run media organizations:

  • Agromeck (yearbook);
  • The Nubian Message and Technician (newspapers);
  • Windhover (literary magazine);
  • WKNC FM 88.1 (radio station).

Witherspoon includes two accessible balconies; one meeting room available by reservation through REM; the African American Cultural Center’s Sankofa Room, Gallery and Library; and Campus Cinema, used for films, lectures, classes and special events.
