Advanced Critical and Creative Thinking (Certificate)

The Advanced Critical and Creative Thinking Certificate helps students in all majors hone their critical and creative thinking abilities to stand out in the job search, now and in the future. Through the 12-credit-hour program, students gain skills they can transfer to any field or industry while also fulfilling NC State general education requirements through one of the following cohesive themes that complement any academic major:
- Environment, Health and Wellness
- Justice, Law and Social Change
- Science, Business and Innovation

Plan Requirements
- Completion of 12 credit hours of coursework, including:
- 3 credit hours of required course HSS 201
- 9 credit hours of GEP elective courses
- At least two elective courses must be in the same thematic track.
- No more than one 200-level elective course is allowed.
- A grade of C- or better is required in all courses used to satisfy the certificate requirements.
Notes:
- Some elective courses have prerequisites.
- Elective course exceptions are possible, including special topics courses, depending on course content. Contact the certificate administrator for approval.
