Department of Performing Arts & Technology
The Department of Performing Arts & Technology provides students interdisciplinary courses in the intersection or Music, Dance, Engineering, and Entrepreneurship. The department provides a Bachelors of Science in Music Technology, a degree at the intersection of Music and Electrical and Computer Engineering, in addition to minors in Arts Entrepreneurship, Dance Performance & Choreography, Dance Studies, Music Studies, and Music Performance for qualified undergraduate students who wish to engage in these areas.
In addition, the department offers a variety of courses, most of which may be taken to fulfill specific general education programs. Students have opportunities to perform in choral, dance companies, and instrumental ensemble courses. Registration and participation in any ensemble is open to students with an interest in music or dance. Auditions are required for more advanced performance groups and are scheduled during summer orientation, at the beginning of each semester, and by appointment with the director of the group. Performances presented by companies, ensembles, faculty, and visiting artists are open to students and the public.
