Get Started with University Housing

Incoming First-Year Students

Apply for housing: It is highly recommended that you complete your University Housing application by May 31. Students who have received acceptance for the Fall semester may access the housing application through the Campus Living section on MyPack Portal. If you decide not to attend NC State, you can cancel your housing application. The housing application includes a roommate section to match and communicate anonymously with potential roommates and the application process for Living Learning Villages. If you have a preferred roommate already in mind, you can include that information on your housing application.

Incoming Transfer Students

Due to the first-year live-on requirement that began in 2017, space is limited for upper-class students. Any Living and Learning Village that accepts upper-class students is available for transfer students. Our Transfer Connections Village and select spaces in our Engineering Village Expansion are reserved exclusively for transfer students.

  1. Located in Wolf Village Apartments, the Transfer Connections Village connects transfer students to a variety of campus resources and programming meant to make the most of their NC State experience.

  2. Located in Wolf Ridge Apartments, the Engineering Village Expansion provides support for the transition to joining a major in the College of Engineering, career readiness, community, mental health and wellness.

Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours to be eligible to live on campus during the fall and spring terms. Students who must drop below these minimum requirements should contact University Housing to request an exception. Summer session housing and transition housing are  also housing options that are available.
