Get Started with University Housing

Incoming First-Year Students

Apply for housing: It is highly recommended that you complete your University Housing application by May 31. Students who have received acceptance for the Fall semester may access the housing application through the Campus Living section on MyPack Portal. If you decide not to attend NC State, you can cancel your housing application. The housing application includes a roommate section that allows you to match and communicate anonymously with potential roommates, along with the application process for Living Learning Villages. If you already have a preferred roommate in mind, you can include that information on your housing application.

Incoming Transfer Students

Due to the first-year live-on requirement that has been in place since 2017, space is limited for upper-class students. Any Living and Learning Village that accepts upper-class students will be available to transfer students. Our Transfer Connections Village, and select spaces in our Engineering Village Expansion, are reserved exclusively for transfer students.

  1. Located in Wolf Village Apartments, the Transfer Connections Village connects transfer students to a variety of campus resources and programming to let them make the most of their NC State experience.

  2. Located in Wolf Ridge Apartments, the Engineering Village Expansion provides support for those transitioning into a major in the College of Engineering, as well as help with topics such as career readiness, community, mental health and wellness.

Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours to be eligible to live on campus during the fall and spring terms. Students who must drop below these minimum requirements should contact University Housing to request an exception. Summer session housing and transition housing are  also available housing options.

Living and Learning Villages

NC State’s Living and Learning Villages are residential communities where students, staff and faculty learn side-by-side.
